HashiCorp co-founder and CTO Mitchell Hashimoto will explain why east-west load balancing in a microservices environment is a bad idea. As your number of services grows and your infrastructure becomes more cloud-based and dynamic, you can only afford so many load balancers before the situation becomes unaffordable. IP-based service discovery and routing won't be enough.
