Prisoners could be released from jail up to 60 days early, in a bid to tackle the issue of overcrowding.
Justice secretary Alex Chalk announced the plan which would allow ‘certain low-level offenders,' serving less than four years, to be freed up to 35 days before their sentence ends - with the option to extend to 60 days if necessary.
Offenders released early would be tracked with GPS tags for the remainder of their due sentence.
Latest figures show that male prisons are 99.7% full, with a total capacity of 85,000 less than 250 spaces left.
TalkTV’s Mike Graham is joined by former Met detective Mike Neville to discuss the latest plan to combat overcrowding.
Also joining the panel to discuss the issue is Reform UK Deputy Leader Ben Habib, broadcaster Emma Woolf, and political analyst Mike Indian.
