This video shows you how to block in a really easy, really fast way. I like to use it for my cotton knitting as well as some wool pieces, especially lace. The steam makes the lace open up instantly and it’s actually kind of magical to watch when the stitches are really stretched.
The fabric in this video is already about the right size, so there’s not much movement when I steam it. But I like to block it anyways, because it helps make the stitches lie straight and evenly and it helps keep the nice straight edge.
