The Spectator Australia’s James Macpherson says it's “beggars’ belief” that people are buying into the government’s energy plan.
“The federal government provided $1.5 billion in price relief to consumers but then paid $1.25 billion to coal-fired power stations as compensation,” Mr Macpherson told Sky News host Caleb Bond.
“All this fuss and … all this undermining business confidence for $250,000 benefit to taxpayers.
“It makes not a jot of difference to world temperatures, which, remember, is the entire point.
“Energy prices, instead of rising by 63 per cent, are tipped to rise by 43 per cent over the next 12 months or so.”
