Elephants walking in Tarangire National Park Tanzania. They return from the river after a long day of cooling off and drinking water. #elephants #elephantwalk #elephantswalking
My wife and I were in an open jeep with just our personal guide. No guns, no fences, no where to run for protection!!!
Many elephants walk up the river path after a hot day, seeking shade for the night.
The 30 elephants pass very close to our jeep since we are parked across their path. The matriarch elephant would be the biggest in the herd and uses her power of smell to determine whether we are a danger to her family or not.
Elephants have a poor sense of sight so they got within a few feet from us and sniffed us out.
We survived to share this experience with you.
