Condemning her minister Akhil Giri’s derogatory remarks on President Droupadi Murmu, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Nov 14 apologised on behalf of the TMC. Trinamool Congress and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee condemned Akhil Giri for the same. “We condemn the utterings of my MLA. I apologise on behalf of the party. My party already apologised. We have high respect for President. This is not our party’s culture. We have cautioned him so this does not happen in future. Party will take its own course of action if this happens in future,” she said.
