In a recent cabinet meeting, the Nagaland government made several significant decisions, including the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Chumoukedima, Niuland, and Dimapur. Temjen Imna Along, the spokesperson for the state government, announced at a press conference that Dimapur residents would be categorized into three groups concerning the ILP requirement. Residents who settled in Dimapur before December 1, 1963, and those who settled between December 1, 1963, and November 21, 1979, will not need an ILP. They will receive a smart card with options for a Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) and a domicile certificate. Those who settled after November 22, 1979, will be required to obtain an ILP.
