The Centre on Asia and Globalisation of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public policy inaugurated its partnership with Russia's Valdai Club in a conference titled: 'Developing Asia Pacific's Last Frontier: Fostering International Cooperation in the Development of Russia's Siberia and Far East' held from the 16th-18th of December, 2013. The aim of the project is to address the various dimensions related to Russia's eastern development including economics, trade, geopolitics, maritime security, energy security and the environment by strengthening cooperation with Asia. The opening panel introduces the project and assess the past 5 years of the development of Russia's Siberia and the Far East.
