MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) A Mobile Police Officer in the Vice Unit was terminated and two others reassigned Thursday after the trio was found guilty of multiple misconduct violations involving area strip clubs, Police Chief James Barber announced.Officer Brandon Cotton, Officer Timothy Johnson and Lt. Ronald Brown had been responsible for compliance audits at the adult establishments.Some responsibilities included ensuring dancers were wearing the proper coverings required by law as well as current documents permitting them to dance within city limits.In October, a fellow unidentified officer filed an internal complaint accusing the men of misconduct.At a news conference Thursday afternoon, Barber said Cotton turned a blind eye to violations in exchange for sexual favors at Vixens Gentlemen's Club, and was subsequently fired after the trial board's findings.Vixens has since been closed. The Candy Store was also involved in the probe. Neither business will face any charges, Barber said.Johnson was found guilty of conduct unbecoming, misuse of his position, a violation of the code of ethics and failure to obey a direct order. He was suspended for 240 hours without pay.Brown, whose job was to supervise the men, was found guilty of failure to supervise and was demoted to the rank of Sergeant, Barber said.There is going to be an incident of misconduct, Barber said at a news
