How to tell a real Cuban cigar from a fake Cuban cigar:
In this video I explain the best, easiest, and most reliable way to tell the difference between real and fake Cohiba and Montecristo Cuban Cigars.
This approach is the best by leaps and bounds. The second best way to check the authenticity of Cuban cigars requires the original box or packaging. I will get to that in another video in the future.
In this video, we don't have the original box these cigars came in, but we are still able to verify the authenticity of each cigar individually.

Cohiba was established in 1966 in Cuba as a limited production private brand supplied exclusively to Fidel Castro and high-level officials in the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban government. Often given as diplomatic gifts, the Cohiba brand gradually developed a cult-like status. It was first released commercially for sale to the public in 1982. The Cohiba Siglo VI has received some of the highest scores in the line from blind reviews like a 93 from Cigar Aficionado. Today the brand is considered to be the most prestigious and recognizable in the world.
In July of 1935, Alonso Menéndez purchased the Particulares Factory in Cuba, makers of the popular Particulares brand and the lesser-known Byron. Immediately after its acquisition, he created a new brand named Montecristo. The name for the brand was inspired by the Alexandre Dumas novel "The Count of Monte Cristo", which was supposedly a very popular choice among the torcedores aka the cigar rollers in their factory to have read by the lector on the rolling floor (there was no television back then). The now-famous Montecristo logo, consisting of a triangle of six swords surrounding a fleur-de-lis, was designed by John Hunter Morris and Elkan Co. Ltd., the brand's British distributor.
