Emma Morano, thought to be the world's oldest person, celebrates her 117th birthday at her home in Italy. Born in 1899, the secret to her longevity might be down to her love of eggs and repetition. However, she has had a difficult life. Her husband died in World War One after which she was forced to marry a man she did not love. Later, her child also died. She even outlived all her eight siblings.
