European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has expressed support for Ukraine in its fight for freedom and democracy. In her opinion, the Ukrainian conflict represents a battle of values, where Ukraine stands up for the common ideals of freedom and human rights. Von der Leyen emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine first and foremost, as well as the need to strengthen Europe's defense capabilities in light of the threats posed by the conflict.
“We must support Ukraine. Ukraine is waging a war of freedom against oppression. It is a war of democracy against autocracy. Ukraine is fighting for our values and for all free peoples. Therefore, we must support Ukraine in the first place and, of course, at the same time strengthen our own defense,” said the President of the European Commission.
