The only thing which we know for sure is what happened in the past. But once the past showed you a rather straight line up over decades the future is very likely predictable. That's why I feel very comfortable to suggest you after 40 years of violin making to invest into a great sounding violin, viola, cello or even Doublebass which you choose because you love it. In the next decades its price will slowly slowly raise and soon skyrocke.
In uncertain times such investments are extremely stable.
What happens with Antonio Stradivari or Giuseppe Guarneri happens also to all modern violinmakers who are still alive. It's just a different price range, but the price performance is just the same percentage as an antique original. Approximately between 6% to 7% every year.
