I learned how to master a lot of flat ground tricks using softrucks on carpet. I would practice for hours on end in my parents skateboarding shop to help pass the time. I honestly believe this is how I learned how to get my kickflip flick down so I could do kickflips more consistently. Having the carpert underneath your softrucks gives you more confidence to try to learn new flat ground tricks. Than once you get consistent with the trick and you build confidence to do the tricks on flatground. But definitely suggest Softrucks. I use them all the time for skateboarding lesson and skate camps. Check them out
