(23 Oct 2018) White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said Tuesday President Trump's proposal for new middle income tax cuts is "doable" and the administration is "working through it" and consulting with Congress about the next steps.
On Monday night at a campaign rally in Houston, Trump repeated his pledge for a new middle-income tax cut of about 10 percent, though he offered few details on the plan.
Trump said they would be "putting it in" next week, though Congress is not in session.
Kudlow said Tuesday that the plan "may not surface for a while," but he warned not to underestimate President Trump's ability to get the tax cuts passed eventually.
"The last couple of years, President Trump, promises made promises kept. And take him seriously when he comes out with these things," he said.
Kudlow also said Trump and Chinese president Xi Jinping will meet next month at the G-20 summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, amid escalating trade tensions between the two countries.
