Across the world, the steel industry is on a decarbonisation journey - and in Aotearoa we are playing our part to contribute to this mahi (work).
This work is important because steel is one of the worlds largest materials industry - if not the largest. It also plays a prominent role in our daily lives and is critical to national infrastructure.
Steel is required to achieve a global transition to a clean energy economy and to meet our carbon emissions targets - so being transparent about what the steel industry is doing to meet this commitment is very important to us.

*Please note an error in data - it should be 74% of steel scrap in New Zealand is collected for recycling - not 72%.
