Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Ursula von der Leyen met President Nataša Pirc Musar in front of the Obrežje/Bregana border crossing building. Pirc Musarjeva is accompanied at the ceremony by Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon.
This was followed by a trilateral meeting between Slovenia, Croatia and the European Commission, and at the end of the visit, Pirc Musarjeva will also hold a conversation with the President of the European Commission.
At midnight, Croatia entered the Schengen area, which eliminated border controls with Slovenia. Croatia’s entry into Schengen was symbolically announced by the responsible ministers of Slovenia and Croatia by raising the gates at the Obrežje border crossing and turning on the green light at the traffic light, which allows crossing the border.
