Anti-government protesters in Istanbul have tackled a serious issue in a light hearted way by organising the first annual "gas festival".
They organised the event to highlight how the police have been cracking down on the recent Gezi park protests.
Along with a mock riot van and water cannon, protesters also had a giant tear gas canister and a mini blockade reading: "Tayyip [Erdogan] you are so sweet".
Although the "gas festival" may have a tongue in cheek feel, it comes as a by-product of the violent clashes between protesters and police in recent weeks that left several dead, and thousands injured.
