Prof. Joseph Devlin talks about the ethical issues raised by applying neuroscience in the real world -- privacy and autonomy, or freedom from manipulation. Through the use of real world examples, he illustrates a set of five ethical principles to guide behaviour. He argues for a voluntary code of conduct and the adoption of a Right to Cognitive Liberty to be added to the UN Declaration of Human Rights.
This talk was presented at the Applying Neuroscience to Business (#AN2B) conference in Tokyo, Japan on 27 September 2019.
