4 Wheel Parts caught up with Jessi Combs, the world's fastest woman and one of the stars on PowerBlockTV's All Girls Garage at the 2014 SEMA Show.
Jessi Combs says that when she was driving on her daddy's lap at four-years-old there was no way she could have known she was born to the first Queen Of The Hammers, the Fastest Woman On Four Wheels, or that her entire life would be wrapped up in the automotive industry.
It's even weirder that to her that she got caught up in the off-road industry because even when talking about landspeed it is all still done on the dirt.
Combs says that there just are not that many females who really know how to get "down and dirty" when it comes to vehicles, when it comes to fixing them, especially when it comes to on the fly and on the trail. Females are especially rare when it comes to four wheeling.
So being a female off-roader put her in a unique position to be a brand representative. And then from being a brand representative she developed into an actual race car driver. So her being behind the wheel as a racer actually started with her skill sets as a mechanic.
Combs is passionate about her tech skills. She truly enjoys teaching others how to work on Jeeps, Trucks and extreme off-road vehicles. She loves the sense of accomplishment that comes with building something from scratch, then getting in it and watching it tear up the rocks and other obstacles on the off-road trails.
The driving that comes after the build is really the ultimate high for Combs. She loves putting all of her hard work, technological innovation, garage hours, to the test in actual off road racing conditions. Especially with her friends and family cheering her on. Being behind the wheel and having fun after all the garage hours is really where it is at for Combs.
