I recently sold my older gaming laptop and decided to buy Samsung's newest flagship Chromebook for $1000. I absolutely love it in every way!
After poking under the hood for a few minutes I realized that my 10th Gen i5 CPU in my Chromebook wasn't using the hyper-threading, essentially slowing down the performance of my brand new Chromebook. This is supposedly done as hyper-threading "COULD" be a security risk. Honestly I wouldn't worry about this at all.
To enable hyper-threading on your Chromebook (If your CPU has hyper-threading to begin with), here is a link from Google on how to enable hyper-threading and get the most out of your new Chromebook:

I have not seen any real drain on my battery while hyper-threading is running, so enabling this shouldn't shorten your run time at all or very little.
