Update: The 2020 Acura MDX is labeled as a small SUV according to fueleconomy.gov. The website does not yet have a 2022 Acura MDX page. I should note that the 2022 MDX may, in fact, get a different classification because it is, after all, larger. And I should have stated as such in the video.- Robin
The 2022 Acura MDX A-Spec is all-new. It's the 4th generation of Acura's three-row luxury SUV and is now burdened with the title of flagship. What does that mean? It represents Acura's most luxurious and performance model. That, of course, excludes the NSX supercar, which Acura dubbed its Halo car. And I suppose a halo hovers above a flagship.
In this video I explain, in detail, what is new about the MDX, what comes standard, and what is more trim level dependent. I also give a walk around outside and inside the vehicle. From there, I explain the different configurations of the second row as well as the different cargo capacities of the SUV and how to move the seating around to utilize those capacities.
Still not done, I then get behind the wheel and describe what it's like to drive, what you'd enjoy and what may take some getting used to, systems like the "infotainment" interface. After breaking down everything you need to know, I then spend a few minutes driving MDX competitors and pointing out strengths and weaknesses.
You'll come away from my video informed and hopefully entertained, too. I hope you enjoy my review of the 2022 Acura MDX A-Spec.
