Meet Polina Rayko – an artist whose home became a museum of her creativity.
Raiko is a self-taught artist who started drawing late in her life and never expected to become one of the most recognised representatives of Ukrainian naïve art. Her house became a unique place to contain traditional motifs, and her whole autobiography is on its walls.
Imagine: the masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo vanishing forever due to human cruelty. Now imagine that Ukraine faces a similar loss today – Polina Raykoʼs home-gallery in the city of Oleshky, Kherson region, has been flooded and neglected due to Russia’s occupation.
Learn more about Polina Rayko, one of the artists featured in the exhibition Colori Spenti (Faded Colours), which will be held from November 18 to 28 in Milan, Italy 🇮🇹
The exhibition is organised by the Ukrainian Institute in cooperation with Linkiesta, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Italy and the Consulate General of Ukraine in Milan.
