Honda's Rebel series has grown into a popular standard model. Here's some information about the additional class for its older sibling, the 1100. Currently, the lineup includes MT and DCT models, as well as the "1100T" touring model equipped with cowling and panniers for both. But what kind of character will the new class have?
It seems that there will be some developments for the flagship Honda Rebel 1100, also known as the Boss Rebel. First of all, it needs to be made compatible with the catalyst damage detection function (known as OBD2-2, etc.), which will be mandatory in Japan in the future. In other words, a model change is a must, but at the same time, they will introduce what seems to be a derivative model with a higher class.
Although the specifications are not yet known, it is said that the price will increase slightly. Since there is already a touring model with a large fairing and pannier box, namely the 1100T, young machine magazine, proposes a sports model with reinforced suspension, like the SP on the CB1300 series.
The current model is a combination of Showa suspension and Nissin calipers, but if it were equipped with Ohlins and Brembo like the CB1300SP, it would be much more interesting. Also, as an enhanced touring version of the 1100T, it would be hard to ignore the radar-based adaptive cruise control. Now that Yamaha and Kawasaki have practically used it, it's about time Honda had it too.
