I spent a solid 4 years in Albany New York. The memories are mixed BUT one that shines bright and beautiful is my experience at a small red sauce joint called Sovrana. I call it that over a pizza spot because they have so much more delicious on the menu than just a slice. That said, the slice is the gateway to the hot Italian mainstays, subs and pastry deserts. Some people even rave about their mash potatoes comparing them to silk BUT I’ve never confirmed this. This weekend I was passing through the capital region and dipped back into my old haunts. Lets just say nothings changed except they don’t sell toilet paper anymore. Both of those are good things. The slice is the same as it was in the 90’s and I couldn’t be happier to bite into that nostalgia with cold cheese.
