Kampung Baru is a suburb of Kuala Lumpur that is dedicated to the ethnic Malay life. They have resisted development and any type of modernization on their buildings. It's a really neat area because it's in the heart of downtown Kuala Lumpur and is surrounded by large and impressive buildings while it retains it's traditionally simple look.
