So... this video went badly.
After a few hickups and days where I was left with this unusable, I ended up needing to do a factory reset, I or you would need to use an old telephone and dial a number into it.
So, no you do not need the 'special handset, you might find it listed with. Which I was thinking.
This thing looks like a spaceship.
I was using a D-Link DIR-615 as a modem. Now while I have not done any testing, I am noticing a small improvment in my internet, worth blowing about $270? Ah no.
I should have gone to a store and picked up a shiny new access point and gone with that, but if I ever neeed it, this shiny new box... I do not need to install an thrid part firmware to make it better. Unlike the crap, I see getitng tossed out that companys such as Bigpond, Optus, Dodo... and most other ISP's here in Australia.
Side note, most of those 'modems' you can't install thrid party firmware on.
Just so you know, I was over thinking this whole thing...
Still its done and I am semi happy, also I might need to do another video in a few years. Fixing the damn thing. But time will only tell.
