The dowel pin on my intake cam sheared and it does not seem to be the kind of thing that is easily replaced. After some minutes of drilling, you can see the small dent I put in the sheared dowel below. Drilling it out does not seem to be a likely solution.
There are countless ideas of how to extract the old one but none that have been verified. Taking it to a tool and die maker or other machine shop with a EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine) and have them vaporize it is one of the more esoteric solutions proposed.

But I was able to remove the PIN in a very simple and fast way. Please see the video of the process
