Ever wonder what happened to the H&C Disposal carts and trucks when they closed operations? Sonoma Garbage Collectors purchased some of the H&C carts not on route and WM of Moreno Valley purchased 5 of these Volvo/Autocar dual axle Amrep's. 3 of these Amrep's are still at Moreno Valley but 1 of them is in the process of getting scrapped. 1 went to Blue Barrel Disposal/WM and is also being scrapped and 1 was sold to CR&R a few years ago.
In this video, you will see a WM ex H&C Disposal Amrep collecting recyclables in Murrieta. WMmaster626 and I were excited to find this truck because it is fast and one of the best sounding CNG trucks on the road. The driver Carlos, has a fun operating style too. He revved the truck pretty hard and any time there were overloaded dumpsters he would crush the boxes with the forks. There are numerous areas on the truck where H&C blue paint was bleeding through the truck. Even though this truck has nothing to do with the old WM of the Desert trucks that Burrtec currently runs, if you listen close you will hear this truck sounds very similar to the old WM of the Desert trucks. You can especially hear that sound when revving or driving from stop to stop.
