Louise Woodhead is the Team Lead Research Nurse at the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) Greater Manchester, having previously worked as a children's research nurse.
Here, Louise explains how working as a Clinical Research Nurse with the CRN involves a lot of variety. Nurses in the team deliver research in a range of health and care specialties and across a range of settings, ranging from secondary care, to primary care and community locations such as places of worship and schools.
Louise also has some advice for trainee nurses who are looking to make their first step towards a career in research.
