Hotel and casino magnate Bill Harrah, the original owner of this 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, was reportedly approached by a Sikorsky salesman, who offered him a faster way to commute between Reno and Lake Tahoe. Mr. Harrah agreed he would happily buy a helicopter—but only if it could beat him driving the Daytona between two of Harrah’s clubs. The race for the ages went down, whirlybird vs. “Harrah Hot Rod.”
