Hundreds of South Korean rescue personnel are on standby at the World Scout Jamboree, after more than 400 participants suffered heat exhaustion amid skyrocketing temperatures. Some 43,000 young scouts from 158 countries are attending the event. The 12-day festival started yesterday in South Korea's western Buan County, even as the highest-level warning for extreme temperatures was issued. The mercury has topped 38°C across parts of the country this week. Politicians have raised concerns about potential casualties at the event.
