Central Park’s only formal garden is undergoing a comprehensive, multiphase restoration. The next phase of the Conservatory Garden’s revitalization includes its historic rows of flowering crabapples trees, or allées. After decades of enjoyment and care, the existing trees have come to the end of their lifespans and will be replaced this October. The Central Park Conservancy’s team has diligently researched, planned, and selected new plantings to align with the Garden’s original design intent and preserve its longevity for years to come.
The mission of the Central Park Conservancy is to preserve and celebrate Central Park as a sanctuary from the pace and pressures of city life, enhancing the enjoyment and wellbeing of all.
