“While #ThatFilipinaKaren has been my branding for a while on social media, I constantly aim to show and tell not just Filipinos, but the entire Universe what it means to be a non-stereotypical Filipina and Karen of today. Digging deeper into the fact that I identify as an Ilongga out of my parents who grew up as sweethearts in the town of Maasin, #DearIloilo is an ode to my personal relationship with our beautiful province since I was a kid -- kind of like writing love letters to a place that breathes so much culture, nature, family history, and life lessons that lead to pursuing who I am meant to be."
