The I VI II V is one of the most common turnaround chord progressions in jazz. In this lesson I am going to go over 10 variations of this turnaround and discuss how some of the different substitutions work and how you put them together. I will compare show how the III VI II V and bVII VI II V are related to this turnaround through chord substitution and tritone substitution.
I have written out all the chord progressions as tab and notation so you can hear how they sound.
