It was Tine’s Birthday on the 16th of August.
I, the other chingu, really wanted to treat her for her Birthday. 😊

We generally prefer experiences over gifts, and we really wanted to visit a special place (especially considering the BIG NEWS that we share in the video).
We’ve learned about this place from tannie Gerda (an amazing woman we met on a hike in Fernkloof one time) and we wanted to experience it ever since.
Initially there were no space for us as they were fully booked until December. This place is so popular!! And for good reason! We were quite disappointed until the phone rang one day, and the lady informed us about a cancellation for 1 night on the 9th of August. We were ecstatic!

Kol Kol Mountain Lodge is situated in the Overberg, around 20min from Bot River via the Van der Stel pass road. The lodge and cabins are very privately situated and boast with unique wood fired hot tubs! This was amazing! We actually made the water to warm to get in at first and had to let it cool off a bit…haha! The cabins are built with logs and rocks from the mountain and the attention to detail is magnificent. We were also surprised with a bottle of champagne and a personalised note that congratulated Tine on her birthday.

There is nothing but good things we can say about Kol Kol Mountain lodge and would recommend it to anyone that wants to celebrate a special occasion or just spend some quality time together, privately.
