Trump's first impeachment - 2020
Gordon Sondland, U.S. ambassador to the European Union, said he told the Ukrainians they would need to publicly state that they would investigate Burisma and the 2016 U.S. elections to get U.S. aid that was being held. Sondland testified during a public impeachment hearing in response to questions from Rep. Adam Schiff, the chair of the House Intelligence Committee. “The Ukrainians found out and then it was made abundantly clear if they hadn’t put two and two together themselves that if they wanted that aid, they were going to have to make these statements, correct?” Schiff asked. “Correct,” Sondland said.
