At Dow, DM is a subject with maximum credit hours hence it gives you a higher chance for a good GPA if you score well in it.
Books I recommend:
Mccabe (long book and the most authentic one for proffs)
Zohaib Khurshid (short book but you may only use it if there’s very little time to revise)
I personally recommend Mccabe. The fact that it’s super dry but also that exact lines from Mccabe are given in our proffs, which makes it super important. Believe me, legit useless lines from Mccabe also hold importance regarding proffs.

I personally dislike this subject a lot but had to sadly cope up with it to move ahead.
Books:
Levinson (superrrr long)
Instant Microbiology (short)
To be honest, when I became my 2nd year, I had full intentions to stick to levinson until after some time, I had to switch to instant for topics like viruses.Levinson is definitely the book of choice but instant is also a good summary of the entire levinson. If you think you have time for the long book and you can complete it, go for it otherwise you may also clear your exam with instant but make sure to read instant THOROUGHLY. There are very few concepts in case of micro, make notes and start jotting down the importance which would help you revise in the end because its legit so volatile, you simply cannot retain the knowledge by one read.
