Join Kestral Michaud for three fabulous workshops at the 2025 AQS QuiltWeek show in sunny Daytona Beach, Florida.
She'll be teaching three workshops:
Freeform Beach Scene Workshop
Friday, 2/21/2025, 1:00 - 4:00 PM
In this workshop, students will create a beach scene using fusible-backed fabric and a reference photo of their choice. Kestrel will provide compositional guidelines to follow before turning you loose. This workshop is particularly exciting because there is no pattern and no set kit, so every student produces a uniquely different result.
Hands-On Quilt Photography
Saturday, 2/22/2025, 8:30 - 11:30 AM
Whether it’s to share on social media, make a sale, or enter a show, having a photograph of your quilt is a firm requirement. If the idea of photographing your quilt is scary, if you’ve had difficulty taking good photos, or you’ve spent lots of money on a professional photographer, this workshop is for you!
Stitch Theory
Thursday, 2/20/2025, 2:00 - 3:00 PM
Kestrel started as a fine artist before evolving into a quilter. Even though she was creating art with fabric for over a decade, Kestrel’s early works could not be considered quilts because they were missing one key component: the stitching. This presentation is the story of Kestrel’s fraught relationship with stitches: from necessary evil to integral part of the design.
