Playthrough of Dice's Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017) which includes all main missions from the single-player campaign and the Resurrection additional campaign added post-launch. Played on Xbox Series X, recorded in 1440p 60fps at 24Mbps bitrate (yes...these videos are HUGE files!).
I hope you enjoy the gameplay and like/subscribe if you think this sort of content is up your alley. If you have suggestions or if you want to discuss the gameplay or the game itself, feel free to comment. Thank you :)
As for my take on the game, the story (like all of Star Wars) fills my heart with awe, joy, terror, and that tingly feeling when you hear "May the Force be with you." It's a truly great story about an Imperial agent, Iden Versio, and her struggles as the Empire falls.
Unfortunately, while the story pulls at both heart strings and emotional curiosity as to what I would do in such a galaxy, the gameplay was not up to par. I played, as you can see, on Normal. The difficulty was quite easy as expected, though I do die a few time in the playthrough (which I always keep in, one death was particularly hilarious), but the issue was the fighting itself lacks that "epic, space opera" feeling of the movies and the multiplayer modes.
As you'll see if you watch/have watched, the AI is REALLY BAD. I actually went back on the highest difficulty to check and the AI is equally basic. While straight up fights in the game feel quite difficult due to the high damage done by enemies, they are extremely easy to cheese by simply funneling them into corridor and with the low health of the player...this is a really natural retreat tactic. The AI simply follows you like CoD Zombies...so Dice definitely missed the mark in terms of the gameplay in the single-player.
However, the art design and environments pristinely deliver the awe of Star Wars. Jakku especially struck me. And the Frostbite engine delivers insane visuals with great performance...the way the sparks fly off of walls when you blast them...wow.
