Say, girl, you wanna go for a joyride?
How slowly time was passin' me till I became sixteen
Speedin' down the highway was my reoccurring dream
I wanted nothin' more than to be cruisin' down the road
But waitin' for my license would have made my head explode
At midnight I would tiptoe down and steal my Mama's keys
I'd roll that Chevy down the hill, vanish like the breeze
(Joy ridin') look out for the man
(Joy ridin') give that rearview mirror a scan
(Joy ridin') you better look out for the man
(Joy ridin') we're joy ridin'
I'd make myself some chalk marks on the driveway by the tires
Disconnect the speedo, cross ignition wires
Then over to the highway where I'd rev that engine wide
It made me feel so good just to be goin' for a ride
And when the sun was comin' up, I'd have that Chevy stowed
Right back in the driveway, the engine would be cold
(Joy ridin') look out for the man
(Joy ridin') give that rearview mirror a scan
(Joy ridin') you better look out for the man
(Joy ridin') we're joy ridin'
Back then my life's ambition was just havin' my own car
By now I've owned so many, I don't know just where they are
But here's a little secret that nobody seems to guess
My wheels still fly at midnight just to ease my mental stress
They told me I'd grow out of it in a year or so
But all those years have passed me by, still I got to go
(Joy ridin') look out for the man
(Joy ridin') give that rearview mirror a scan
(Joy ridin') you better look out for the man
(Joy ridin') we're joy ridin'
Take a little joy ride with me girl
C'mon baby, I got a muscle machine
Ha, ha, ow
Hey, would you keep that bottle beneath the window?
Don't want the man to see
Uh-oh, what's that, there are red lights behind me?
Ow, I better get outta here
Later on smelly
I'm gone, gone, gone, gone
Ha, ha, ha
Bye-bye
