'Jerry Lee Lewis And His Pumping Piano' with "Breathless" recorded from the original US 78 rpm shellac single on Sun 288. "Breathless", with B-side "Down The Line", was released in the US in February 1958 and peaked at Nr. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Chart. Both sides were recorded in January 1958 at Memphis Recording Service (Sun Studio) in Memphis, Tennessee with Jerry Lee Lewis on vocal and piano, probably Billy Riley on electric guitar, possibly J.W. Brown or Stan Kesler on bass and J.M. Van Eaton on drums. The session was produced by Sam Phillips and/or Jack Clement. Words and music by Otis Blackwell.
