PUNE TO MUMBAI MSRTC SHIVNERI BUS JOURNEY via MUMBAI PUNE EXPRESSWAY
Pune, is the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra and the seventh most populous city in India, with an estimated population of 7.4 million as of 2020. Along with the municipal corporation limits of PCMC and the three cantonment towns of Camp, Khadki and Dehu Road, Pune forms the urban core of the eponymous Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR).

MSRTC service on Dadar-Pune-Dadar route has been running since 1981. As the traffic became more popular, fares were increased on this route.
From 28.12.2002 on Dadar-Pune railway station route, 5 air-conditioned Ashwamedh buses have been started and two return rounds of each bus have been started. As the Volvo bus service is getting good response from the passengers, more new air-conditioned buses have been introduced on this route, as well as Dadar-Swargate, Thane-Swargate, Borivali-Sion-Swargate, Nashik-Pune, Aurangabad-Pune, Sangli-Pune Railway Station, Kolhapur. -Pune railway station and etc. Air-conditioned buses have been started on the route seeing the urgency of the passengers. Apart from this, on Dadar-Pune road, R.P. Corporations have launched multi-axle Volvo 2 buses. Semi-comfort, air-conditioned (cool) buses are running on Dadar-Pune railway station and Nashik-Pune route. Ashwamedh and Nimaaram air-conditioned buses have been named as "Shital".
