This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2024 Toyota RAV4 compact SUV. This Hybrid is the 11 millionth vehicle built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Cambridge, Ontario (TMMC). TMMC recently won the 2024 Gold J.D. Power Plant Quality Award in the US Initial Quality Study. TMMC manufactures the RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid, Lexus RX 350, RX 350h, RX 500h, NX and NX Hybrid at three manufacturing facilities in Ontario. This plant is the most awarded auto plant in the Americas and the second most awarded plant globally. It has the capacity to produce more than 500,000 vehicles annually.
We are also celebrating 60 years with Toyota Canada, it’s quite the milestone for this brand. To celebrate this special occasion, Toyota Canada invited journalists to drive its models across Canada starting in St. John’s, Newfoundland and ending in Victoria which is where we picked up this RAV4. As you can see, it’s all logoed up for the celebration.
The RAV4 Hybrid is powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder matched to an eCVT with Toyota’s hybrid synergy drive; it produces a combined 219 horsepower, standard AWD.
Fuel economy is impressive, it gets 5.8L/100 km, 41 MPG city and 6.3L/100 km, 38 MPG highway.
One thing I really like about the RAV4 Hybrid is the number of trim levels there are for different budgets. Pricing includes, freight, PDI and fees.
In the US, LE $31,725 USD, XLE $33,235 USD, Woodland Edition $34,945 USD, XLE Premium $36,125 USD, SE $34,420 USD, Limited $40,030 USD.
