Facts about the Ice Dragon:
- The resurfacer burns propane to melt a thin layer of the rink surface. The water flows into cracks and scrapes in the ice, then refreezes into a smooth surface
- 1 gallon of propane will melt 76 gallons of ice
- It's lightweight, compact, and easily transported in a car or truck
- It's maintenance-free and simple to use
- It resurfaces over 10,000 ft^2 (930 m^2) per hour unless the rink has major damage
- The resurfacer functions down to -25°F (-30°C)
- It burns 2 gallons (7.5 liters) of propane per hour
- It's scalable to arbitrary widths
- It's immune to freezing temperatures (no water valves or hoses) and can be stored outside
- It's perfect for ponds and lakes with weight limitations
- It avoids ice thickening on indoor rinks and does not affect rink flatness
