In our first episode of Tradition Heard in Athens, we went to speak with Pavlos Vassiliou, proud owner and performer at Rebetiki Istoria, a charming venue in the Neapoli neighborhood that focuses on rebetiko music. Rebetiko is a Greek folk music that emerged in the hashish dens and back alleys of Athens about 100 years ago and we've searched to see who continues its legacy.
