Quidditch is an orphan Grey-Headed Flying-Fox whose mother died on power lines.
He is a very laid back boy who isn't grabby or stressy.
He likes to unhook his feet from whatever he's clutching, and grab his bottle with both feet.
He's also a very sleepy baby in the mornings and suffers from bedroom hair and an inability to wake up properly for breakfast.
Babies often survive the electric shock, being insulated by mum's fur.
Quidditch is 9 days old now. He was lucky he suffered no burns but he did have maggots trying to eat him inside out.
He had a rocky time over his first few days in care but is now doing well and is a very chilled and relaxed batty.
He will be raised by a carer till he goes to creche.
He is not and will not be a pet.
When the hand raised babies are 3 months old, they go into a creche, where they join other orphans and form a group. They learn batty etiquette and how to live in a batty society. They shrug off their human mums and want to be with the other batties. When they are emotionally and physically ready, and uninjured, and around 4-5 months old, they’re put into a release cage under a colony and they can integrate into the colony and fly out with the wild bats. If they can’t find enough food, they can always come back to the cage for a feed. Support feeding is put up on the outside of the cage for as long as they are coming back and eating it. When the colony flies out for winter, they will have fully integrated and fly out with them.
