Last winter, before the pandemic hit, Joseph Moore, in the departments of philosophy and environmental studies at Amherst College, traveled to Münster, Germany, to participate in an interdisciplinary conference on the nature of scientific discovery, which was organized by philosopher Jan G. Michel from Bochum University, Germany. This conference video features biologists, physicists, linguists, philosophers, theologians, and others who reflect on the nature of scientific discovery. Professor Moore's contribution concerned the possibility of scientific discoveries within environmental studies, and how this might provide academic legitimacy to the field. This and other contributions form the conference will be published in the volume Making Scientific Discoveries: Interdisciplinary Reflections(Brill/mentis, 2021): [ Ссылка ]
