Hey guys, welcome back to another VPN Review. Today I'm going to be doing a review and taking a detailed look at Express VPN, a VPN best known for its ease of use and incredible level of security, setting it apart from even some of the best known VPNs out there, while still providing many great features to protect you online. As always, I will leave links to the BEST OFFERS for ExpressVPN. In the description, let's dive in ExpressVPN has over 3000 servers across 160 locations in 94 countries. This means that wherever you are in the world, you'll be able to connect to a server near you. Now this is important because typically connecting to a server that's closer to you will provide better speeds. Additionally, connecting to and switching between servers in most cases only takes less than a second. Now Express VPN supports all major platforms from desktops to mobile, as well as browser extensions even providing a router app which lets you protect any and all devices connected to your router such as security cameras or other smart devices. Express VPN allows you to connect up to five devices simultaneously. While some other VPN lets you connect more chances are five will be enough to connect all your devices from your phone, computer, tablet and TV. Alright, so let's go ahead and take a look at the application. Now right now we're going to be looking at the Macco s app. However, the Windows app is very similar. Right off the bat, what stood out to me is just how user friendly and simple the application is. As you can see we have a very simple user interface and the app primarily runs in this small window. In the middle we see a big power button making it easy to instantly connect. To change the location, simply click the three dots menu here and then search or select a location. The menu in the upper left has things like the built in speed test and preferences where you can change the protocol and activate features such as the kill switch. But more on that later. I really appreciate the small description seen under certain settings such as the protocols, again, making it very accessible for those new to VPNs. I also like the menu bar app that runs alongside the main app, making it quick and easy to change your location disconnect or go to the Help section on their website whilst using other apps. And this brings us to the speed test. Now I've run several tests and put the data in a table. First is the baseline with no VPN. As you can see, I average around 60 megabytes per second download and five megabytes per second upload using smart location where ExpressVPN finds what it believes to be the best server for me in this case in the UK as I am based in the UK, you can see the speeds are largely retained. In this case only seeing a slight drop in the download and upload speed. But you can see this is only around an 8% change, we see similar results for Sweden and Israel. Further down in the US I've connected to both East as well as the West Coast and found numbers to be strong in LA for example, there is only a minimal change in speed.
