Description: This low kang bed cabinet would have been used to sleep on and to store personal belongings. This cabinet is finished in a beautiful rich red and like most furniture from this region, the style is solid and quite simple but is enhanced by a number of doors of varying sizes and gold patterned detail. The cabinet comprises of four drawers and a set of double-doors. There is also a removable panel that gives access to the inner space behind. This space was originally used to store money and valuables, with the front drawer being locked into place and secured with a brass key pin. The size and proportions of this cabinet make it ideal today as a stand for a flat screen television, or as a low sideboard.
